CPS proudly introduces Terphane Packaging

TERPHANE was founded by RHODIA, S.A., in 1976. That year also marked the introduction of polyester films in South America through imports from France. In 1979, TERPHANE started their first film line in Brazil and, in 1988, acquired its facility in Bloomfield, NY, USA, from Kodak.

Formerly Rhone-Poulenc Films, TERPHANE was formed in May of 1998. From 1998-2001, TERPHANE invested over $9.5 million in its business, with close to $7.1 million going toward new equipment, including polymerization coating, metalizing and slitting.

In July of 2003, TERPHANE was approved for a $50 million expansion of their plants in Cabo, Brazil, and Bloomfield, NY. In 2005, this investment was put to use as polymerization and production capacity was doubled in Brazil, and a new slitter in North America doubled the slitting capacity of the Bloomfield, operation.

Since 2005, TERPHANE has invested in new coating and metalizing capabilities. The overall production capability is close to 40,000 tons per year. Today, TERPHANE services markets in North and South America, Europe and Asia. The combination of manufacturing and technical expertise as well as service has made TERPHANE a leader in specialized polyester markets
